• Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

• Prioritize the Cash Application team daily work and assess backlog situations, making adjustments as needed

• Provide guidance to the Cash Applications department to successfully implement efficient posting processes

• Maintain and improve department operations by monitoring cash posting, balancing and identifying and resolving problems

• Manage communication and processes between departments and identify areas for improvement

• Maintain thorough knowledge of third-party payment applications, requirements, and regulatory guidelines at the federal, state, and local levels

• Meet all monthly and year end fiscal closing deadlines as they relate to the cash application process

• Meet or exceed departmental productivity standards on a consistent basis

• Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills

• Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI guidelines

• Computer skills required to operate billing system and associated platforms

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and analytical skills

• Strong reconciliation and balancing skills

• Ability and desire to work in a remote environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum of 5 years healthcare payment posting experience required

• Supervisory experience preferred
