Accounts Receivable Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Manager for Value-Based RCM, Inc. (VBRCM) is responsible for using their skills as an experienced revenue cycle leader to ensure the timely resolution of AR.

MAJOR AREAS OF FOCUS

  • Medical Billing

  • Payer Rules and Regulations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce and analyze standard AR and collections reports, and to lead a team of Third-Party Follow-up employees 

  • Lead and mentor an AR Analyst team 

  • Plan, organize, and monitor the AR process to ensure the management and coordination of a fully integrated collections process, debt management functions, financial reporting, policies, procedures, and processes that mirror VBRCM’s Mission

  • Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

  • Exhibit professional behavior and communication skills representative of VBRCM's commitment to superior customer service

  • Serve as escalation point for team and resolves customer account disputes by obtaining and investigating information from other departments as needed

  • Coordinate the resolution of potential system and payer issues 

  • Work exclusively with key customer accounts to ensure timely AR resolution 

  • Perform necessary follow-up to ensure timely resolution of appeals, obtain updated insurance information, identify and correct billing errors, etc.

  • Remain up to date on Medicare and Medicaid laws, HCFA requirements, contractual arrangements and other third-party payer requirements

  • Apply knowledge of third-party payer guidelines in reviewing denied claims to ensure appropriate use of modifiers and CPT/ICD-10 codes

  • Manage detailed notes in the billing system

  • Utilize payer web sites and /or portals

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 

  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing management tasks

  • Possess the ability and desire to manage a team in a remote work environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of third-party regulations and the interrelationship with the financial reimbursement

  • Practical and functional knowledge of RCM components

  • Thorough understanding of ICD-10, CPT codes, HCPCS codes, hospital and physician billing, third party reimbursements and contracts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required

  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Previous experience in analytics required

  • Previous medical billing experience required

  • Three to five years of management experience

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

$65,000 - $75,000 per year
