Customer Service Representative

JOB SUMMARY

The Customer Service Representative for Value-Based RCM, Inc. (VBRCM) is responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls related to patient accounts, all while ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

  • Exhibit professional behavior and communication skills representative of VBRCM's commitment to superior customer service

  • Interact with patients via phone, email, or online chat to provide support and information on their account or upcoming procedure, using professional telephone etiquette

  • Assist patients with inquiries regarding their account, charge descriptions and insurance

  • Coordinate with various departments within VBRCM to ensure patient requests are handled appropriately and timely

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and services within the department and company

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of client processes

  • Support team through strong attendance and performance

  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, including active listening

  • Working knowledge of EOBs, CPT and DX codes

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI guidelines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability and desire to work in a remote environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Healthcare customer service experience required​
