JOB SUMMARY
The Payment Poster for Value-Based RCM, Inc. (VBRCM) is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of patient and insurance payments, allowances, contractual adjustments, and denials.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
-
Exhibit professional behavior and communication skills representative of VBRCM's commitment

to superior customer service
-
Prioritize daily work and assess backlog situations, making adjustments as needed
-
Reconcile cash/contractual balances, assuring the reliability and accuracy of the daily bank balancing procedures and variances daily
-
Identify, research, and ensure timely processing of payments and error corrections, ensuring appropriate documentation of payments, allowances, denials, rejections, etc. are recorded on individual accounts
-
Reconcile daily batch posting to actual entry in order to identify and reconcile any discrepancies, ensuring that payment posting functions are accurate and performed on a timely basis

Maintain thorough knowledge of third-party payment applications, requirements, and regulatory guidelines at the federal, state, and local levels
-
Meet all monthly and year end fiscal closing deadlines as they relate to the cash application process
-
Meet or exceed departmental productivity standards on a consistent basis
-
Perform other duties as assigned​
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Excellent communication skills

Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI guidelines

Computer skills required to operate billing system and associated platforms

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and analytical skills

Ability and desire to work in a remote environment​
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum of 2 years healthcare payment posting experience required​
